I am a proud Jehovah's Witness Defender
by Matthew Jefferson inmy name is matthew j and i have just ended my study with the jehovah's witnesses.
no, i did not stop studying because i believe the jehovah's witnesses are a 'cult', i left due to the minor beliefs that i hold that remain separate from the organization.
i called my elder who is still an amazing man and great counselor, affirming that i do not wish to continue my studying.

WHERE. WAS. THIS. PRESENTED?
WHEN?
It is FABULOUS! It proves the WTB&TS is decrepitating!
Let's hope they next work up a "translation" of Saturday Night Fever! Maybe "Saturday Field Service Fever"!
"Listen to the ground: there is preachin' all around
There is something goin' down and I can feel it
On the waves of the air, there's a meeting over there
It is somethin' we can share, we can feel it..."
They can re-do the rape scene into pedophilia; it would be VERY TASTEFUL - if you like that taste!

What Are Your Rights?
by Simon inrights seem to be everywhere nowadays.
say hello to someone in the wrong way and you've violated 101 of their human rights.
people imagine they have the right to all sorts of things - food, healthcare, housing, internet ... so many things are labelled basic rights and then you get onto their human rights - a favourite of the do-nothing bodies such as the un to declare.

You have the right to accelerate toward the center of the planet at a rate of approximately 32 feet per second per second OR 9.8 meters per second per second, your choice.
Pretty much everything else is determined by who has the more effective weapon.

Something I had never thought about re: the Borg's nonprofit status
by dubstepped ini am actually looking into the possibility of starting my own nonprofit for ex-jws with specific goals and i've learned more about the process.
i was interviewing someone for the podcast that is familiar with nonprofits and she told me something that i had never considered.
maybe everyone else has but i don't remember seeing anything about it here.

My apologies, I was beset by typos...
"...helped him spead it on" should have been "...helped him spend it on..."
AND
"It is a joy to exp
ose these..." was supposed to be "It is a joy to expose these..."
Sorry 'bout those errors.

Diogenesister, is this "telltale" on YouTube the same grifter who came on here a few years ago and announced similar plans, along with plans to produce a film? If memory serves, the film - or maybe his alter-ego - was "losing my religion."
His own mother wouldn't give him money! As a test, I DID give him some $$,$$$ and in a flash he traveled north and south, up to Europe, down to Africa, up to Europe, bought cameras, ate nice dinners, etc. Soon the money was gone and along with it the "ass-istants" who helped him spead it on cameras and software. And a lawyer, who was supposed to help get a completion bond for the film project.
Too bad he never got the completion bond - if he had he might have been able to wring some money out of an insurance company. If you do a search here you'll be able to docuent "The Grifter Chronicles."
It is a joy to exp
ose these fnckin' frauds for what they are - opportunists and liars!

Reflecting On Death
by Charles Gillette inreflecting on death.
i can't remember, maybe steve jobs before he died.i thought i would share it with you and see what you think about it, and i'm quoting i think from his book.. "i'm about fifty-fifty on believing in god.
for most of my life, i've felt that there must be more to our own existence than meets the eye.. i might be overestimating the odds 50/50 out of a desire to believe in an afterlife.

Westiebilly11, isn't it also true that you brought your children into this world so they could experience LIFE?
You are worrying about what will happen when the music stops; you should be enjoying the dance we're all dancing.

Hi Dubstepped,
When the "...for Dummies" imprint started, I thought it was a terrible business decision and that it insulted their intended audience.
Then I realized that there were MANY subjects about which I was indeed a "dummy," and I have report cards that prove it!
I still feel that the tag is irksome, but I have become more tolerant
as my mind has declined. <-- free poetry! Get yours now!
I meant no offense, but the NOLO books are better, as you implied.

Viene, my condolences.
Was he a coworker in any of your projects?

"This system will probably be over in about 5 years"
by john.prestor ini don't think i shared this story yet, it's strange and although i did a little detective work trying to figure out who said what and when i never found out much, big surprise, jehovah's witnesses love their secrets as we all know... but i thought other posters might find this interesting both in and of itself, because of what an elder told me one sunday back in 2011, and because of what it could imply as to high-ranking jehovah's witnesses prophesying the date of armageddon.
specific dates went out the window in 1975, although governing body helper ken flodin hinted at 2040 in a talk uploaded to jw.org a couple years back, and the governing body hinted at 2034 in a watchtower back in the 90s.
but it might be, just might, that more specific date-setting still goes on behind closed doors in certain circuits.... so after i went to "meetings" and talked to witnesses for a couple years at a rural congregation in the eastern united states an elder pulled me aside one service into the vestibule at the hall, in other words, into a private area where no one would overhear us.

WTWizard advised, "...To me, there is only one reason to drop out of college. If you find yourself getting into too much debt from student loans, that might be reason to drop out (and even then, you alone make that decision). If you are going through college with a minimum of student debt (or none at all), you should not be dropping out--and certainly not so you can live a life of drudgery and stagnation pious-sneering."
There is at least one additional reason to drop out of college; if your major happens to be something like "cis-gender studies" or "the language and culture of trilobites" or some other useless blither, face reality: you are not going to become the first Star Fleet Admiral with that kind of education. Learn how to do a PERFECT drywall installation instead and you will find yourself well-fed and comfortable for the rest of your days. CRAFTSMEN (and CRAFTSPEOPLE for you hopeless snowflakes out there) will ALWAYS be in demand. Meet the demand.

redvip2000 observed, "Yeah, the Trump presidency has lit a fire in the butts of JWs. Even my family has made little comments about the current state of things. They see in Trump the fuse that will set the system on fire."
Then, of course, in a few years when Trump is gone, is back to sad faces and back to looking for the next crisis.
I can't recall ever hearing them say that when a Commie-Crat was in power, can you? What does that tell us about the divine plan of the ages?
